Cache is an ammo can hidden on Jackson Point @ Jackson Meadows Reservoir.
THIS IS A BOAT IN ONLY CACHE located on Jackson Point @ Jackson Meadows Reservoir. Looking at the map you might think you can hike to this cache from the East Meadows Campground but you will have to cross private property and we DO NOT have permission to do so. To get to Jackson Meadows take Hwy 89 north from Truckee CA 17 miles, turn left at the Jackson Meadows sign and drive another 17 miles. Road is paved all the way. This is a favorite camping and fishing spot for my family. **8-17-09 I visited this cache over the weekend to check up on things the dead tree no longer stands it has fallen to the ground, and the eagles are no longer around.** You can still moor your boat at N39°30.018 - W120°32.519, The co-ordinates for mooring the boat will change as the lake level changes, when we were there the lake level was down. You can also pull in to the left of this cove and moor closer to the cache but the hike is steeper from here. The cache is a short hike from the beach, your looking for an ammo can. When placed it had a Rappala Lure for the FTF and other assorted fishing and camping goodies. Enjoy this beautiful spot.
