Geocache Description:

Benjamin Franklin, one of our founding fathers, a renowned diplomat, politician, scientist, businessman and signatory of the Declaration of Independendence, is credited with the adage, "A Penny Saved, Is A Penny Earned".

My uncle Mack, who spent some time as a guest of the federal government for embezzlement and was considered by my family to be a profligate "good-for-nothing" said,"A Penny Spent, Is A Penny Enjoyed!".

Now I ask you, who would you rather spend Saturday night with?

In 1859 the United States government began production of a new one cent coin with an Indian Head design. They were produced for 50 years, until 1909, when the Lincoln cent design replaced them. The Indian Head design, created by James B. Longacre, is really a stylized "Liberty" head wearing a full Indian headdress.

All stages should be easily found. Stage 1 is at the edge of a clearing. Because of variable GPS reception at the Final (Stage 2), A Clue has been placed at eye level WITHIN 3 FEET OF THE CACHE. Stage 1 will take you away from where you parked your car and Stage 2 back towards it.

Please completely cover and re-hide the cache inorder to help deter Muggles.

The Cache (Stage 2) is a 6" Lock 'n Lock and contains:

  • Indian Head Pennies - Please take one if you like, a trade is not necessary. Please contact us when only two pennies are left so that the cache can be replenished.
  • Log and Pencils
Please do not include photos of "Stage 1" or "The Clue" in your log!
