Purga Creek State School was opened on 1 September 1871. It was renamed Purga State School about 1945. It closed in 1967. The CO's partner's Grandfather was the headmaster of this school
The building next door is also worth a look. This building stands on the site of the original Purga school teachers house.

The locked roadside gates are the result of a turf wars issue between 2 different groups who use or have previously used the Old School house as a meeting place. The public are victims of the turf war .
When I checked with Local Council I was advised that the public were entitled to go an look at the place.
Reading the logs the locals seem to know about the cache.
