The Vintage DiVine Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

This Cache is located out the Shakota trail at Lake Mendocino, It is approx. a 3.5 mile hike from the Overlook at the Lake Mendocino Drive side and a much shorter walk from the Pomo side, But I have placed a cache on the Shakota trail, half-way to encourage taking the longer more scenic route. You will appreciate the hike and the scenery on this trail! And the history of this place is awesome let alone the cool surrounding you will be in!...I promise you will like it!

This Location is the remains of the Vintage Garzini winery...Enjoy!

Recent research at the Garzini Winery indicates that the winery was the scene of boot-legging and wine making between 1910 and 1936. The winery owner, a first generation Italian immigrant, was critical to the development of the local economy through his private financial affairs. The patron-client relationship, found throughout southwestern Europe, fits the winery owner's social and financial operations, and it is suggested that this network also applies to locally important figures throughout the American west.
All that is left now is what you will see when you visit this cache, there are various peices of equipment and implements for you to view and figure for me, what they are and what they do, along with figuring out the coords from where you are standing and features of some of the implements and places you stand~Should be an easy mystery followed by a well hidden cache!
