A lake that can't be Beet! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

2Dudez: Had a call from PPrass, who had previously found the cache, letting me know that he and Rabitto couldn't find this one.
The area has has some of the items of similar camoflage removed in the 6 months since the last find.
I stopped by today and had a thorough search checked the area and the cache has definitely gone.
I've decided to archive this one and will place a new one at Lake Burrumbeet in a new location.
Many thanks to all who found this one and thanks for the great feedback about it's cammo.
Thanks again to PPrass and Rabitto for letting me know it had gone.

Geocache Description:

Now that water is slowly returning to Lake Burrumbeet, what better way to celebrate, than have a new cache nearby

sunset1

Lake Burrumbeet is located approximately 25kms west of Ballarat. The lake is a major wetland for the region because of its size and is utilized as a recreational area for boating, fishing and camping.
Burrumbeet is the largest of four shallow lakes in the Ballarat Region covering approximately 2,400 hectares.
The lake reserve is of important historical significance as many aboriginal camp sites are located around its foreshore.

It has been progressively emptying since 1997 and has been completely dry since 2004.
With the recent rains in Mid 2007 the lake has started to fill, but will be quite some time before it will be back to it's former glory.
GZ is away from the best view (for obvious reasons you'll see when you find the cache), but if you walk 50 metres west, it is really nice, with Mt Cole in the distance.
We hid this cache at sunset, giving the area a picturesque glow.

Cache is a 200ml sistema container with room for small trades, logbook and pen.
It's a very easy drive by and won't take too much time out of your drive.
