Geocache Description:


The Friendship Arch

Sculptor - A. Skoblikov and Architect I. Ivanov and others. Dedicated to the unification of Russia and Ukraine, but called "The Yoke" by kievans. The rainbow shape arch is 50 meters in Diameter. There is a viewing deck here (right picture) where most of the east bank can be viewed, Troeschina and towards the north of the city. Podil and Obolon.

Underneath the Friendship Arch there are two statues. The one in the left picture which is made of bronze and depicts a Russian and Ukrainian worker holding up The Soviet Order of Friendship of Peoples and the one in the right picture is made from granite and depicts the participants of the Pereyaslavska Rada of 1654.

1) Enjoy great view at N50 27.309 E30 31.821
2) Move about 80 meters NW until you see ruins of an old stage
3) Enter forest behind the stage and move further 30 meters NE
4) Look for the Tree1 and Tree2
5) Tree1 is your final goal

p.s. Please, mind that it can be quite muddy in this area after rain.
