Geocache Description:

In the hills above Årøysund, the pearl of Njotarey.

With nearby Tjøme island rapidly turning into the Ibiza of Norwegian geocaching, Nøtterøy has remained almost virgin territory. This cache and its related "Eilert Sand" bonus cache are part of a concerted effort by PPJ and myself to improve this deplorable state of things.
The cache is located at a nice viewpoint 57 meters above sea level, close to what looks strangely like Eilert Sand's cabin, in a nice area full of friendly pine trees and interesting stone fences. The coastal path runs close to here, as does the interesting "Kirkestien" between Torød and Årøysund. If you like to climb, you can access the cache site from Kyststien; otherwise, use the given trailhead and the pleasant path which will take you right there.
If you are one of my regular customers, keep in mind that this hiding technique is very commonly used by commoners, but rarely by the king of the forest.

The cache is a military-style container, modified by a true civilian. It has the Mark of the moose. Initial contents:
Logbook, pen, pencil, info-sheet
Coordinates for "Eilert Sand" (written in page 2 of logbook)
Lost Norwegian Geocoin (please do not remove from cache)
Outrageous rabbit carabiner
Moose dropping
Hourglass
Some really dubious CDs
Various other gizmos
