Geocache Description:

To access this cache, you will get to drive along an older section of the Lincoln Highway. This section is currently named CR 32A.
Westbound on I-80 use exit 78 (Road 32A/East Chiles Road)
Eastbound on I-80 use exit 75 (Mace Boulevard/Chiles Road)

The name for this cache is taken from the information impressed into the concrete roadway, at this location, while the concrete was still wet. It is not often that one knows the exact date a section of highway was poured. As best we can read it, it says:

FREDERICKSEN WESTBROOK
CONTRACTORS
July 10, 1941
Sta. 333+89

The impression was made in the center of the eastbound traffic lane so be very, very careful if you try to read it. The local traffic uses this road as a short-cut to get off I-80, when it backs up, and the drivers are often trying to prove they made a good choice by traveling way too fast.

You can learn more about the Lincoln Highway from the Lincoln Highway Associaton or from their California Chapter.
