Geocache Description:


Shippingport is home to two large power plants, including the first peace time nuclear plant in the United States. This cache is hidden along Haden Run, which empties into the Ohio River. If you continue to the mouth of Haden Run after finding the cache, there is a good view of both power plants and the Shippingport Bridge.

A large parking lot is available at N40 37.791 W80 25.487. I recommend either following the streambed of Haden Run to the cache or using the trail through the woods that is sometimes cut. Finding the cache will required crossing Haden Run at some point, so I don't recommend attempting this during the spring or after a heavy rain unless you want to get wet.
