Geocache Description:

Small Lock N Lock. Room for small things only. Saturday evenings & Sundays stealth will definately be required.

St Isidore may have been a farmer but he wasn't Irish. Many of the Irish who settled here in Bee County were farmers also and they called this church their spiritual home. The emergence of this church is associated with Catholic services held by itinerant missionaries in the homes of predominantly Irish settlers located along the Texas Gulf Coast in the late 1840s. The oldest written record of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church dates to 1876. The first church structure, built in 1891, became the site of regular services in 1893. A new church building was erected in 1992 to serve a growing membership.

St. Isidore was born to very poor yet very pious Catholic parents in Madrid, Spain. His plowing was nevertheless assisted by angels and resulted in three times more productivity. His coworkers and his boss witnessed such miraculous events and accorded Isidore with great respect. St. Isidore loved the poor and loved the animals. St. Isidore is known as the patron of Madrid, Spain as well as Leon, Saragosa, and Seville. He is also considered the patron of farmers, peasants, day laborers, and rural communities, such as Beeville.
