Geocache Description:

This 2-stage multi cache is located on Presqu'ile Point (but not within the provincial park), at the site of the historic Presqu'ile Hotel.

The hotel was built in 1905. It started out small and could only accomodate 50 guests, but a major addition in 1912 significantly increased its size. It featured a riding stable, tennis and badminton courts. People came from far and wide because of its prominence and grandeur; a dancing pavilion built to the rear became one of the 'hottest' sites for summertime big band peformances on the lake. For instance, Guy Lombardo and Vernon and Irene Castle performed here. The hotel was the focus for many recreational activities, including regattas, gatherings and service club picnics. Every year on July 4th there was a Presqu'ile to Rochester yacht race. The hotel was a big attraction well into the 1960's but a deteriorating structure and decreasing guests caused it to be dismantled in 1972.

While you're looking for the cache, check out the monster Cottonwood Poplar; it's in the following photo, taken in about 1920, on the left side.

All that remains of the Presqu'ile Hotel complex is the municipal dock which was built by the federal government in 1935. For many years it served as a customs location for people sailing from the US to Canada. It was turned over to Brighton about five years ago. Now it's used by the local fishermen as well as sailboat and yacht owners for a temporary overnight berth.

In order to reach the cache, you'll have to pass though the park gates; just tell the attendant that you're going to the cottage road.

The final location can be found at N44 00.ICJ W077 41.AKL.

The unknown values can be found from the following clues.
1) Locate a 10 digit number near the first stage, with this format xxA-BCD-EFGH. Pick wisely, there are 2 possible numbers!
2) I equals D-B.
3) J equals D+B.
4) K equals C-D.
5) L equals G-H.

Please be careful retrieving and replacing the cache (exactly as you found it), and be wary of the muggles. Because of the stinging insects at the final, I have moved it. Look low! It's not attached, so please rehide it carefully. Once you've found the cache, it would be best to return to your car to fill out the log. The cache contains a log only so BYOP (and just sign your name and the date please).

P.S. While you're there, you might want to also visit the provincial park. It is a lovely spot for swimming, hiking, nature, biking, camping, etc. Just remember to get a day pass at the park gate.

Congrats to shaker962 and freshair4me for the FTF.
