Geocache Description:

From Highway 6 take the road to Dyers Bay and turn off on Crane Lake Road. If you reach the marsh keep your eyes peeled for the sighting of an American Bittern and then turn back as you have gone too far. If you hear what you think is the gulp of a frog it could be a bittern.

Crane lake is one of the darkest spots on the peninsular and is great for viewing the night sky. It is also home and nesting territory to a number of sandhill cranes, terns, herons, snipe and other marsh birds.
