Ammo cam with traditional trade items as well as a memory album that stays in the cache. A little minimal hiking involved. $5 Barnes and Noble card for FTF.
I placed this cache to honor my father who spent the earliest and latest parts of his career as a range scientist out at Harvey Valley, working on rest-rotation grazing. The cache is placed at the site of the old work station. The buildings are gone now but it makes a great shady place to picnic. About a 10 - 15 minute drive off Highway 44 (road leaves Highway 44 at N 40.36.712 W 121.06.765) on dirt/graveled roads.
It will be helpful to have a copy of USGS topo map for Harvey Mountain (map number 46211) to find your way to sector 36. Best parking and picnicking is at Harvey Station. The map can be downloaded at www.store.usgs.gov. Go to the map downloader icon, then put in Harvey Valley, CA as your search. If you put Harvey Mountain it will take you to Maine! Once at the Harvey Valley page, click on the mark point and then download the map for Harvey Mountain. It will be small (8 1/2 X 11) but readable. Your choice as to how you get out there. The dirt roads are passable but do have some brush growing in the middle. My Subaru Forester had no problem but a regular passenger car may have difficulty navigating the last 100 yards. If necessary, you can always park before this little downhill and still walk easily to the cache site.
There is always a possibility of slither critters. I've never seen one there but do be cautious.
