Geocache Description:

Welcome GEOCACHING DETECTIVES!
This is the finale of the Fido Lost Dog series. It is not necessary to complete:

in order to solve this cache but you will miss out on his adventure if you do so!

This cache is an EXTREMELY FUN six point traditional multi with the first stage being a mystery. The 1st stage IS NOT AT THE ABOVE POSTED COORDINATES. Mystery can be solved on this web page prior to leaving for cache. All 6 stages can be reached from parking near the park by the canal at the default listed cache coordinates.

It is recomended that you bring this web page with you because all stages will follow the story line and will help you search for Fido. This cache should be FUN and not too difficult although GPSr reception is spotty in some areas. Alot of time was put into making the coordinates as accurate as possible.

ALL STAGES ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE TO WITHIN 50 FEET. IF YOU ARE BUSH WACKING, THAT IS YOUR CHOICE, 4X4 TRAILS LEAD TO ALL STAGES!

THE SAGA CONTINUES...

Ben increased his efforts to find Fido after several GEOCACHING DETECTIVES reported they had seen where Fido had been recently.
Ben continued tirelessly to talk to the local people, post lost dog signs, and put notices in the paper for a reward for First to Find Fido!

It was hot today so Fido spent sometime laying down in the water at a nearby canal. After several hours, Fido decided he better get on his way. He climbed up a hill and made his way towards a small park. His nose got a whiff of something powerful. After rooting around in a small group of trees he discovered the source of the smell. It smelled "human" and was a discarded sock (stage 1). It wasn't Ben's though, and he continued on.

A quick movement caught his eyes over by the trees and he wandered over to see what it was. "Hi, I'm Rocky" said a small squirrel as he was gathering nuts.(stage 2)
Fido was about to reply, when all of a sudden Rocky yelled "LOOK OUT!"
Fido turned to see a determined man trying to put a net over him. It was a dog catcher! Fido took off in a scared sprint across the park, down the road, and onto a canal trail before he stopped to catch his breath.

As Fido sat there panting he heard a croaky voice say "Why are you so tired? What are you running from"?
"I'm Fido, I'm lost, and I was talking to Rocky when someone came up behind me trying to catch me, so I ran and here I am," replied Fido.
"I'm Mama Frog and you can hide back here behind the hill until he leaves," said Mama Frog. So Fido (stage 3) hung out for awhile with Mama Frog and although Mama Frog didn't know where Ben was he said Myrtle might be able to help.

Fido took off to find Myrtle. As he trudged along a dirt path he came upon an unsual sight in the canal. "Why would a car be parked down there"? Fido pondered.
Just then he saw someone coming, so he jumped into the bushes on the other side of the trail to hide. It was just some kids on bicycles riding by. As he started to leave his collar got caught on (stage 4) a tree and it got yanked right off of him. "Oh well," said Fido as he went to look for Myrtle.

"Mrytle, where are you" said Fido as he approached the area that Mama Frog said Mrytle lived. "My name is Fido, and I'm lost and Mama Frog said you would help me," spoke Fido.
Silence.
Finally, a small voice from under a large fallen tree next to the trail said, "Over here". Fido walked over to see a turtle on the ground. (stage 5) "I'm Mrytle the Turtle. Are you really Fido?" "Yes,why?"asked Fido.
"I heard a group of people walk by here about an hour ago. They said they were the GEOCACHING DETECTIVES and they they were complaining about how there GPSr would not settle down here and how they hoped to find Fido soon."
This bit of news made Fido's heart leap for joy! Ben was looking for him! "Do you know where I can find Ben?" asked Fido.
Just then there was a shout and he heard someone say "Get him!".
A loud noise ripped through the air and debri flew up beside him. Someone was shooting at him!

Fido took off like a rocket and ran down the trail, around a corner and into the woods. He found a small shelter by a tree where he thought he could hide until they were gone.(stage 6)
