Less "conspicuous" Traditional Geocache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Greatland Reviewer: Dear scobey,

I have been going through caches that have multiple "DNF" (did not find) logs, which is often a sign that a cache is missing. Generally cachers avoid hunting a cache with many DNF logs, so it is a good idea for the Cache Owner to check the cache and either replace it or post a log to the cache page to tell fellow geocachers that the cache is still there, but they might need new eyeglasses. No action by the Cache Owner may result in a cache being archived to keep the cache from appearing in local Pocket Queries.

Please reenable the cache page after you have maintained your cache. To reenable the cache, go to the cache from your Account page on GC.com. Under "Admin Tools" in the upper right-hand corner, click "Enable," write your note and click "Submit log entry."

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Geocache Description:

In a busy strip mall. Difficulty due to the muggle factor.

My tribute to Deke Rivers who did much for geocaching in Anchorage in the early days.

My first cache in July, 2004 was by Deke Rivers and called "conspicuous". And it was! Unfortunately, it was archived in 2005 and Deke commented that it lasted longer than he thought. I was hooked after this cache and especially after #2 which was AKwhodini's Oceanview. I first met the magic man there on 7/14/2004. I've never met Deke Rivers but have found several of his caches.

The old location was under the main sign for the strip mall. I've wanted to replace this cache but it's old spot is too muggley and hard to hide a cache on. The new cache is nearby and hopefully will last as long as the original and longer.

Enjoy!
