Both the Rugby and Cricket clubs have lochside grounds.
Established in 1933, Strathmore Rugby Club has played from Inchmacoble Park since 1952. Until the end of the cold war the most spectacular fixture was the annual game against the American Third Armoured Division based in Germany. The game was always preceded by the downing on the pitch of large glasses of Sheep Dip whisky.
Strathmore Cricket Club have in recent years celebrated their 150th anniversary, with over 140 of these years situated here at Lochside, whish must be one of the most attractive locations for a cricket club in this country (Don't fancy retrieving any 6s though!!) In recent years Lochside has become a favoured venue for for clashes between Scottish and English county sides.
