[SWE]: Store Väktor, max djup 36,5 m, är en av
Bredfjällets stora sjöar.
Inom Väktorsjöområdet finns ett stort antal
rödlistade arter,
d v s hotade eller sällsynta arter, vilka många har
skyddats med
naturvårdsavtal eller biotopskydd.
Till sjöns karaktärsfåglar hör storlom och
drillsnäppa.
Fiskgjusen fiskar regelbundet i sjön.
Järpe, orre och tjäder samt pärluggla och sparvuggla
finns i området.
Under vintrar med islägg på sjön, finns det goda
möjligheter att se
lodjurens spårstämplar i snön.
Varg ses sedan slutet av 1990-talet årligen passera över
Bredfjället.
[ENG]: Store Väktor, max depth 36,5 m, is one of the
big lakes of the Bredfjällets area.
Within the Väktor lake area there is a fairly large number of
rare and threatened species,
many of which have been protected through legislation.
Birds typical of this lake are the Black-throated Diver and the
Common Sandpiper.
Osprey can be spotted regularly fishing in the lake.
Hazel Grouse, Black Grouse and Capercaillie, as well as
Tengmalm´s Owl and Pygmy Owl are
other examples of birds in this area.
During cold winters when ice is covering the lake, there is a
good chance to discover tracks of the Lynx in the snow.
Each year since the end of the 90's, wolves have been seen passing
through the Bredfjället area.
