Lawson Tower was built in 1902 for $60,000 by multimillionaire investor Thomas W. Lawson to cloak a town water tower across from his estate. It is 153' tall and was recently reshingled by the Scituate Historical Society for $800,000. Please initial log only, it will last longer!
Originally this was built to hold water. If you walk around you will see the spiral staircase protruding from the side but inside the building. A few times a year the tower is open to the public, they will give you a flashlight as there are only a few small windows on the way up and it is dark. Check the website for the Scituate Historical Society for the dates it is open. Years ago I did climb to the top, but this year when it was open I decided that I didn't need to do it again.
Lawson Tower is also a benchmark, so be sure and log it!
Look closely as it is a nano cache and bring your own pencil. There may be muggles during the day as there is a Nursery School next door!
