Geocache Description:


National Historic Site of Canada

Big Chute Marine Railway is located along the Severn River section of the Trent-Severn waterway. Originally opened in 1917, replaced in 1977 much larger to move the greater number of boats. It remains as a marine railway today instead of a lock to form a land barrier to keep the Sea Lamprey found in Georgian Bay out of Lake Simcoe.

Cache when placed contained log book and pencil.

Remember cache in trash out.
