De eindlocatie is toegankelijk van 10.00uur tot 17.00uur.
Alleen bereikbaar vanaf half april tot half oktober.
The final location is open from 10.00am at 5.00pm.
Only available from half april until half october.

Op 20 september 1494 verkreeg Heyndrick Pietersz, alias Oudt Heyn toestemming om de Zaandijk te betimmeren en te behuizen.
Gaandeweg ontstond een gehucht, dat tot 1613 naar Oudt Heyns vijf zonen `De Vijf Broers`werd genoemd.

In 1544 stonden er op de dijk zestien huizen.
Dertig jaar later waren dat er nog maar negentien en werden na een plunder tocht door de Spanjaarden verwoest.
Toen de eerste bewoners weer terug keerde, was Zaandijk weer even woest en ledig als voor 1494.
In 1613 stonden er vijftig huizen, eigenlijk was er in dat jaar voor het eerst sprake van de naam Zaandijk.

Tot 1633 bestond Zaandijk alleen uit een dijk, na die tijd kwam het zo karakteristieke patroon tot stand.

De Lagedijk te Zaandijk is een van de mooiste bewaard gebleven delen van de Zaanstreek.
In 1986 werd een stuk ervan als beschermd dorpsgezicht aangewezen.

In 1544 there were on the dike sixteen houses.
Thirty years later there were still nineteen and became after plunder excursion by the Spanish people devastates.
When the first occupants returned, Zaandijk were just as savage and empty such as for 1494.
In 1613 there fifty houses stood in fact, were there in that year for the first time talk of the name Zaandijk.

Up to 1633 Zaandijk only existed from a dike, after that time the this way characteristic pattern came about.

The Lagedijk at Zaandijk have been kept of the most beautiful remained parts of the Zaanstreek.
In 1986, a piece was protected of it designated as a rural face.
