pheows: This cache was a lot of fun to place and I believe it was a lot of fun for cachers to find, but I am afraid I must archive the cache.
The approach to the final stage requires cachers to pass threw a public recreation area, including pavilions, picnic tables, and a children's play ground. In my head I imagine a group of middle age men charging threw the playground without a concern for what it may look like to the families or children in the area. Although I can't control what others may think, I can control what direction cachers take and it won't be threw this playground to get to one of my caches.
Also, to get to the cache, cachers must cross a 15-20 foot wide stream. At peak rain times this creek can be very rough and at dry time it can be calm and easily crossed. I can't control if a cacher decides to cross the creek during a heavy rain and possibly bang their head against a rock as they slip and go crashing into the waters. I also can't prevent a cacher, afraid of water, from chopping down a tree and laying it across the water, thus disturbing the vegetation and natural balance of things.
I have an obligation to maintain the dignity of the sport as well as preserve the nature and environment that we so cherish. I can't risk the harm to either to an individual or the geocaching community.
