A letterbox hybrid at Pactola Reservoir.
The cache is located at a place some people have called Alcatraz Island. Around 2000, my brother lived in the area and he and I came out here several times a summer to cliff jump and swim. We'd jump into the cove on the highway side of the island. There used to be a diving platform, a pole with a bar across at the top, but that's gone too and replaced with an american flag.
The cache is at the top on the south end of the island. It's well hidden in the rocks. Take your time and be careful. There are two ways to access the cache, by land (followed by a short swim) or by boat. There is no parking near the cache. The closest place to park is at the visitor center to the south. By water you can launch from either Jenny Gulch, marina (private), north or south boat launch.
Don't forget to bring your personal letterboxing stamp, stamp pad, and log book if you have them! The box does not have an ink pad in it. If you're not familiar with letterboxing, you need to know that the stamp is not a trade item and stays with the cache.
