Hoppity Hare was sitting around enjoying a pleasant afternoon
reading in the shade when Doofus Dog bounded up.
"Guess who I just met!" Doofus exclaimed.
"Um..." thought Hoppity Hare. "Could you give me a hint?"
"It's somebody that you can read about in The Forest
Enquirer."
"Elvis?" asked Hoppity Hare innocently.
"That's right!" replied Doofus Dog. "And guess what she was just
on her way back from doing?"
Hoppity Hare said nothing but gave Doofus Dog a look that
suggested that he wasn't playing proper attention.
"Wait. What?" Doofus Dog looked confused. "You said 'Bouncy
Bunny', right? Because that's who I meant. She's the one who's so
famous that all
the newspapers are writing about her. Anyway, guess who I just
met? No, wait. I just asked you that. Guess where she was?"
Sometimes Doofus Dog got talking so fast that he wasn't able to
keep up with himself. "She had just come back from the Toronto
Islands! And guess what she did there?"
Hoppity Hare had no answer.
"She had hidden a new geocache! And she said that she hadn't
listed it on geocaching.com yet, but I could go find it if I
wanted! And then she gave me the coordinates and then I entered
them in my PDA!" He waved an electronic device in the air. "Do you
want to go find the cache with me? Because she gave me the
coordinates and I saved them in my PDA so I can go find the cache
because she gave me the coordinates!"
Hoppity Hare waited for Doofus Dog to catch his breath and she
responded "Yes, that sounds like fun. Let's see what the
coordinates are."
"Yes, Bouncy Bunny told me the coordinates and I typed them in
right here on my PDA!" He handed the device to Hoppity Hare, who
looked at the display and then sighed.
"Oh, Doofus Dog you silly hound! This isn't a PDA... it's a
pocket calculator!" She held it up and showed it to him. The
display didn't have coordinates on it, but contained a single
number.
"Oh noes!" sobbed Doofus Dog. "I have messed everything up
again! But I typed in all the numbers as Bouncy Bunny told them to
me!"
Poor Doofus Dog. Where can the cache possibly be?
The posted coordinates are for the ferry dock on the mainland.
The ferry to the island costs $6 per person return. Further
information is available at the City of Toronto's
