Great to have been able to introduce this lovely area to so many cachers. 😀

Geocache Description:

A woody offset on the southern edge of Dartmoor, near the village of South Brent.

The coordinates are accessible via a public footpath from the road. The path is often muddy. At the impressive railway viaduct, find the date on the metal mushroom: 18AB. There seems to be the remains of an earlier viaduct here. (visit link)

The cache is a plastic tub in the nearby sloping woodland at N50 deg 24.AA0, W003 deg 50.A(B+2)(B+2).

The wood is noted for its dormouse population, sustained by hazel coppice and honeysuckle below a canopy of oak, beech and ash. There are also squirrels and foxes.

Note: There's a photo clue and a heavy hint if the trees make it difficult to get a reliable GPS signal.

Dogs are welcome if on a short lead. Not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
