Bearclaw Located Here Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

"The Bearclaws": The property owner must have lost my contact information regarding the cache. I spoke with him not so long ago and at that time he intended to leave it for the next owner but I guess he changed his mind. I'm archiving due to the last finders log and the request to archive. Its a sad day for us to have to do this. It had a good long run.

Geocache Description:

Crossing the Beartooth Highway was something I had wanted to do all my life after hearing my parents talk about doing it in the late 1930s, before it was paved. "The Bearclaws" were on a trip to Yellowstone and had just made the crossing from Red Lodge, coming down in Cooke City. Feeling a bit shaky from the altitude changes, we stopped at the first place we spotted to take a break. While relaxing and recalibrating our bodies altimeters, the idea to place a cache came to mind as it seemed like a natural location for our team. This one is hidden outside of a building on private property with permission and collaboration from the owner whose caching name is Bearclaw 2. He'll be watching over the cache and performing any needed maintenance. If you're timing is right you can stop in and say Howdy to Bob.
