Welcome to my Tree Mystery Cache
GYMSON: I was out performing maintenance on my caches today and this one has been overcome by the forest.I could not find the cache container anywhere. Oh well.
It was a thrill to have it nominated and win the cache of the month by members of GONIL.
Thanks to all who visited.

Would appreciate improved coords. I could only get 16 ft accuracy.
Before the white man settled in the area of the present day Northwest suburbs it was the native Americans who lived in the forests and the plains of this area. The Illinois, Miami and Potawatomi had many camps along the Des Plaines river and along the main trails of Woodstock Road Trail (Rt 62), Lake Zurich Trail (Rt 12) and the Milwaukee Road Trail (Rt 21). Their camps were also situated in the six groves of the area, Buffalo Grove, Plum Grove, Englishman’s Grove, Missionary Grove, Elk Grove and Deer Grove.
Through my studies of the Native Americans I have learned of some very interesting and obscure facts about daily life in these camps. One fact I have found to be very unusual is how the natives of different tribes would announce their approach to a neighboring tribes camp so as not to alarm them. There is an instrument they would use, similar to how a drum is used as a means of communication. This instrument was left along the paths to the camps.
I have acquired a replica of one of these instruments and thought it would be interesting to use it in a cache. So, here is your quest. This is an offset cache. Go to the posted cords, use the instrument then follow the clue that you will find there to find the cache. Just relax, don’t put too much effort into it and picture your self back in the 1700’s about to meet your native neighbors. The instrument is kind of sturdy but you may want to limit it’s use.
I do not know how long the instrument will last out in the elements so you may want to find it soon.
PLEASE, NO SPOILER LOGS!!
