Cache is located at Petit Jean State Park. Park at the overlook – but turn your back on the view because it’s not near the cliff side. There’s no trail, so it will require some light bushwhacking, although the terrain is basically flat. You’re looking for a green ammo box.
Numerous other geocaches can be found on several hiking trails in the park. (about 24 other caches at the time of this posting)
So plan extra time to hunt for the others too. Plus, this is a beautiful area with lots of other things to enjoy.
Petit Jean Mountain is named for the legend of Petit Jean - the story of a French girl who disguised herself as a boy and secretly accompanied her sweetheart, an early explorer, to the New World and to this mountain. Petit Jean State Park, Arkansas's first and flagship state park, enhances this 300-year-old legend with windswept views, enchanting woodlands laced with streams and wildflowers, and a spectacular waterfall – Cedar Falls.
This park is a place with distinctive features such as sheer bluffs, Cedar Creek Canyon and Seven Hollows, Bear Cave, the Grotto and Natural Bridge, and whimsical formations called Turtle Rocks and Carpet Rocks. It's a place where the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps endures in facilities mirroring the mountain's rugged beauty.
