WSQ Dodge County #7: Reeseville/Lowell
Cemetery
This is the seventh
in a series of caches
I have placed in a circuit through Dodge County. I have researched
and studied these cemeteries for interest and sometimes a little
history lesson will be had along the way.
Cemeteries hold a great wealth of potential for the geocaching
public. I hope that my series will inspire you and get you thinking
about life, death, traditions, honor, sadness, beauty, nature, and
craftsmanship.
The
WSQ indication is in
the title to let you know that this is a special Wisconsin Spirit Quest cache.
This tells you the cache is located in a cemetery. A higher level
of reverence and care is required when searching for these caches.
Please be considerate of mourners and monuments. This cache is not
placed near any grave site. Enjoy the hunt. The caches in the
series can be done in any order or started in order at any place.
Chronological order will get you the best gas mileage.
This
cemetery on records is called the Reeseville Cemetery, however it
is in the town of Lowell and is cared for by the Lowell Cemetery
Association. The coordinates listed are for the entrance to
the cemetery. Once there you will need to do some research
using my favorite artistic-from-days-of-old grave marker the
"petrified tree". Here is a sample of one located in the
cemetery:
That being said look around for
a "Green" petrified tree. When you find it, take the
information regarding Adaline's date of birth and death to
calculate the coordinates. 2044 - year of birth =
A. year
of death - 918 = B.
Final Coordinates:
N43º 20.A
W88º48.B
