Cachers from everywhere are welcome to this CASUAL gathering!
Dogwood Park is the sight of our first geoevent in Chesterton.
We have reserved their largest shelter...with seating for over 150
people, so I am absolutely sure space won't be an issue!
There are bathrooms and port-a-johns on site, and the shelter is
RIGHT near a playground for the little ones. There are also
horseshoe pits(bring your own) and several volleyball nets. (also
bring your own.) If you would like to bring anything for your kids
to do, like "ladder ball" or "Bean-o", there is PLENTY of room here
for it!
This event will be a potluck style gathering, so we need attendees
to post what item they will be bringing. There is also a large
grill next to the shelter, so if anyone wants to bring hotdogs,
charcoal, etc. for their dish, that would be great. THERE IS NO
ELECTRICITY IN THIS SHELTER, PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY!
PLEASE post ASAP what you will be bringing,
so others can plan accordingly.
We will be holding a 50/50 drawing to help
defray the cost of the shelter rental, and to hopefully help out
with more events in this area in the near future.
We have scheduled the day as follows:
11am-12:45pm: Sign-In begins, TB drop off,
50/50 registration
11am-1pm: Social Time, local cache grab time
1pm: Grub time
2pm: 50/50 drawing
2:15-whenever: MORE social time!
Please note that there are PLENTY of picnic tables to sit at, but
you are welcome to bring your lawn chairs, as I am sure they are a
bit more comfortable.
Also, DO NOT forget your tableware!
