Geocache Description:

On the Flagstaff Road, first road on the right beyond Cathedral Pines Campground.

This is a jumbo magnetic key case, 3 3/4"x2"x1/2", placed so you'll stop and enjoy the beautiful view from the bridge. To the north is the spot where the Dead River spreads out to form manmade Flagstaff Lake, and beyond that are Kibby and the Boundary Mountains with Canada. To the east is the Bigelow Range and to the south more mountains including Crocker (with the scar from a mudslide) and Sugarloaf. This is a good place to launch kayaks and canoes, to jump off the bridge and swim (the channel is 25 feet deep in the middle), or to just wade in and swim near the sides of the bridge. Eagles frequently fly overhead and loons and Canada geese swim by. In the spring, little yellow goslings run across the road. Although I don't consider this a great fishing spot, many people bring their children to fish. In the winter otters play in and out of holes in the ice. There are also deer and once a moose named Dunker jumped in my favorite swimming hole!

The case contains a micro log sheet to sign, a pencil (but to be safe, bring your own), a miniature version of my signature card and for the FTF, a small loon pin. This cache will take only tiny items, and only one or two of those. The magnet is quite strong so pull hard!
