Geocache Description:

A short cache and dash, that could also be done as a short circular walk, perhaps an extension of my other cache- Stroll around Stretton. NOTE: THE COORDINATES GIVEN ARE NOT FOR THE CACHE.THEY REFER CLOSELY TO ONE OF THE VILLAGE PUBS, which you may like to visit after your walk.

In Britain we have an obsession with the weather, and quite rightly so as we put up with our fair share of lousy weather. To locate this cache, you will need to answer a few questions related to weather, and hopefully will learn a thing or two. 1. Clouds are grouped into three types- translated as 'low', 'middle' and 'high'. If the low level clouds are classified as 'strato', what are middle level clouds classified as? The word could also describe a type of singer. 2. In 1982, a British Airways Boeing 747 flew into a cloud of an unusual type, and all four of it's engines failed. Eventually by the efforts of the crew, the aircraft landed safely at Jakarta's Halim airport. What was the flight number? 3. In this year, Michael Fish, the BBC's weather forecaster, said his famous line on BBC TV. The British public were assured that the hurricane that battered the country was not going to arrive! What was the year? 4. The Fastnet race is a yachting race in the United Kingdom. It is considered one of the classic offshore races. It happens every two years, and is a course of 608 miles. The course is unusual, as it begins off Cowes, travels to the Fastnet Rock off the southwest coast of Ireland, which the competitors round, and then back to Plymouth via the south side of the Isles of Scilly. In which year did storms cost the lives of 17 competitors? 5. In which year did Sir Francis Beaufort introduce his famous scale used to describe wind speed? Now, take your answers as follows: Number of letters in question 1=A. Flight number is BAxyz. z=B. The year for question 3=198C. The year for question 4=197D. The year for question 5=180E Due to an overgrowth of stinging nettles I have had to relocate the cache. Please correct the coordinates obtained from the following equation as shown below the equation. The cache is to be found at: N52 21.pq0 W001 24.rs8 Where pq=(D-C)x(A+B) and rs=(DxE)+(B-A). Correction required to the answer above. The correction should be the FINAL step AFTER solving the equation: ADD 016 to pq0 SUBTRACT 015 from rs8 Good luck!
