Geocache Description:

Candy tube in a cemetery. As always, no night caching. The neighbors will shoot you. Bring your own pen.

This is a very old cemetery, started long before the railroad came through the village of Spargusville, just up the road. The rails are gone, but the headstones remain. Please be respectful.

I remember when trains still rumbled through the valley. An odd turn of the rails is southeast of here. If you get a chance to look at a satellite map of the area, you can see a turn shaped like an omega, called Minnehan Bend. My dad used to say that the trains' engineer could pass a pouch of tobacco to the brakeman on the caboose as they passed each other on the turn. I'm not sure about that, because I've ridden a horse across that section and don't recall seeing the other half of the turn at all, but it makes for a good story.
