September 19th is International Talk
Like a Pirate Day
Due to our packed plundering schedule, The Pirates of Waterman's
Bluff will be celebrating this holiday a few weeks later. We'll be
a landing at Titlow Beach on October 6th for an afternoon of
Piratical fun. Dress in your best pirate garb and join us for a
potluck lunch. We commandeered a ship full o' dogs & buns so
we'll be grilling up those for everyone. Iffn' you wish something
else, well your on your own! There will be some tall tales being
told and some spoils of the hunt being traded. New baubles may even
be had for those with the proper Piratical attitude.**
We plan to be there early to commandeer the shelter nearest the
play toy but we won't be sure until the day of the event.
Reservations? Pirates don't need no stinking reservations!!
Translation -- They don't make reservations
after Oct. 1st
There be a treasure box full o' coins available fer the right
price. Iffn' I do say so me self, these are some mighty fine
looking coins. They be worth far more than the paltry $8 each we be
needing to cover costs.
**Me crew and I sat down and decided to have a bit o' fun with
our new bling. We'll be having a contest for some extra special one
of a kind coins. There be a special Gold an' Silver version of this
coin for the best Male & Female adult Pirate. We have a special
prize for the best child pirate.
There be some simple rules to this contest. The Captain and his/her
mates will be the sole judges of what is and isn't a pirate
costume. Because of this they and their progeny are not eligible to
win. To be in the adult category you have to be of legal age to
sign aboard a sailing ship. (aka over 18)
We be lookn' for three things in a pirate. Originality, Attitude
and Overall Appearance. The first two count for more than the
third. If'n you can sell it a bandana and and earring is all you be
needin'. Bribery is encouraged, if you can figure out who the
judges are.
