WARNING: watch your steps carefully. The ground here could be
dangerous, worry if you see something wet - it might be a hole. The
risks are quite limited if you are careful. If you bring kids, keep
them under close observation.
Around 1900 AC, a mine was constructed to mine mineral feldspar
and mica. The minerals were shipped to various locations, e.g.
Germany.
Now the abandoned mine is filled by water and tree roots.
If you have trouble finding your way, just ask the locals how to
get to Nordövallen soccer arena (the only soccer arena on Donsö,
according to my map)
Public transportation: www.vasttrafik.se, search for Donsö. You
can also reach Donsö by bridge from Styrsö.
Donsö port (close to the brigde) offers the essentials; public
restrooms, shower, pizza resturant, convenience store, bowling.
update 2011: maria's icecream has closed. but at isbolaget you can
get ice cream as well as cappuccino, late etc, and small
food...
You can also find a couple of nice places to bath on Donsö.
2009-06-29: BEWARE: Logs tell of bad ass ants haunting this
place.Don't go here if you are afraid of ants. (ants are a bit
poisonous I guess, but not much unless you are alergic. Bites can
hurt though). Svenska: myror här. De bits. De är onda. De festar på
geocachare. Var snäll mot dem och stör dem så lite som möjligt. Bit
inte tillbaka.
