Weary sailors of the prairie schooners traveling east across the Cascades must have felt a huge sense of relief when they were greeted by the welcoming beacon of the Little Lighthouse on the Prairie. There they knew they would be greeted with a smile and have an opportunity to stock up on provisions for their continued journey west.
