Geocache Description:

This cache is in the village of East Hagbourne, Oxon, and is accessed via the network of Bridleways and Footpaths that surround it. It is easily accessible and child friendly, although some of the paths can get muddy when wet, particularly those where there are tractor tracks.

This is the first ever cache created by Jack (7)and Lily (5) for their new brother Henry (8mths). It is a 0.5L 'Lock n Lock' container, that we have tried to camouflage as much as possible.

Originally it contained a range of goodies of the sort they like to find in other caches - such as marbles, hair grips, pencils, a pack of cards, a beastie bug (not travel bug) etc. as well as the standard logbook, pencil and pencil sharpener.

Suggested parking is a N 51° 35.652 W 001° 13.988 which is not far from the cache and is adjacent to East Hagbourne Recreation ground - for added interest for children either before or after the treasure hunt. The Village Shop and Post Office is just across the road, where you can get a drink or an ice cream, which may or may not be open depending on which day you go geocaching ...

If you want an easier route for prams etc. then alternative parking at N 51° 35.547 W 001° 13.950 might be better.

This would be a good follow on to either of the other two caches in the village by Turtle140 - in particular 'A well kept village - East Hagbourne'(GC11NQ0).

The area is quite popular with dog walkers, so beware of muggles ...
