Whomping Willow Traditional Cache
Flowery: I wasn't able to get down to this cache before the snow made things difficult. This is a great spot for a cache - think I'll leave it for someone else.

A cache protected by the Whomping Willow - can you find the secret knot to stop the thrashing branches and open the secret passageway?
As you know, you cannot apparate in or out of the Hogwarts grounds. Therefore, in order to reach the Whomping Willow and find this cache, you will have to travel through the Forbidden Forest. The trail starts on Route 30 near Lake Clear Junction. There are a few squishy spots along the way so wear appropriate footwear. Follow the trail through the forest - DO NOT LEAVE THE PATH! BEWARE THE DANGERS OF THE FORBIDDEN FOREST! THERE IS NO NEED TO BUSHWACK - LEST YOU FIND YOURSELF IN ARAGOG'S LAIR, THE CENTAUR'S CLEARING, OR SOME OTHER HORRID PLACE!
At the very end of the path you will reach Hogwarts Lake. The coordinates will take you to the Whomping Willow. The cache is an ammo can loaded with goodies. Depsite the fact that Hogwarts is unplottable, Muggles do occasionally stumble upon it (although the Whomping Willow tends to make short work of them). Please take care to re-hide the cache WELL, making sure it cannot be seen from any vantage point.
You will notice many shards of wood littering the beach, no doubt the remnants of one of the Whomping Willow's more violent tantrums. These shards, smoothed by the lapping of the waves, can make very nice wands. Just bring some wood lice to appease the bowtruckles.
(P.S. Yes, we know it's not really a willow tree. Those tend to be pretty rare here in the Adirondacks, so let's just use our imaginations, shall we?)
