Geocache Description:

“OHIO SPIRIT QUEST”

The Ohio Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Buckeye Pioneers. This series is inspired by and a continuation of the Indiana Spirit Quest caches created by Six Dog Team. In just over three years, the SPIRIT QUEST has grown to over 550 caches, with the hiding teams growing as well. The Ohio Spirit Quest has begun to grow with twenty six current hides in one Northwest Ohio county, with five current caching teams, four each with A Man and His Dog... and one with A Woman and her Dog. Over 1,000 cachers have logged over 20,000 finds. One cache machine found 111 ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours only). PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF POSTED CEMETERY HOURS, TYPICALLY DAWN TO DUSK. ANY FIND LOGS INDICATING NIGHT CACHING WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE.

Come with us now for a virtual tour of this old burial ground via this page, then go out and find the cache!

OHIO SPIRIT QUEST #026
”A Little Family History"

This is our twenty sixth hide across the border in Ohio. Listen to what TMA has to say:

Welcome to Riverside Cemetery, Superior Township, Williams County, Ohio.

This is a very large, sprawling cemetery, tucked off the main highway west of Montpelier, Ohio.

Riverside cemetery is very large, spread across the countryside west of town. The listing coords will take you to the headstone of Merlin J. Scheuer and Anna Rose Scheuer, my grandparents. When you reach the headstone, a little bit of math will be required. Take the birth year of Mrs. Scheuer, and add up the digits. Multiply the sum by 10, and add to N41 (34.884). Sum up the death year, multiply by 10, and add to W084 (37.025).

The cache container is a camo'd small lok 'n' lok. -- Pencil provided. Ample parking here. If you find a fallen US flag, please stick it back in the ground. As always, please be respectful, and cache in, trash out. Pray for our Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, CoastGuardsmen and Airmen in harm's way. All photos by The Moop Along.
