Geocache Description:

Cache coordinates are for a bearing marker that also has information neccesary to "solve" actual cache location. You will not need to go farther down the hill than is safe but this will, unfortunatly, keep you within eyesight of the summit, so please be covert.

There are 3 ways to go from this marker to the cache.

(*Edit 9/12/11 Appearently the marker that has sat atop this mountain for as long as I have known is no longer present. You can still use the bearing method from the listed coords, or use 12,801 for the altitude method, unfortunatly the "sighting in" method is no longer available. If anyone is aware of what happened to the sign please let me know so I can either properly place my disgust or hopefully assit in replacing what is to me a colorado landmark. Thanks, Cajun)

1. Travel approx. 20 yrds at 277 degrees from marker
or
2. Add the numbers in the elevation together and add sum to last 3 digits of W coord. Also, subtract 1st, 2nd, and last digit of elevation from 3rd, and add this sum to the last 3 digits of the N coord. (Last 3 digits = after the decimal point)
or
3. Use the 1st and last numbers of elevation and second switchback corner of road visable below to "sight in" your bearing.

This cache is a tribute to my home town, Baton Rouge, Louisiana which is French for "Red Stick". I leave it to you to translate the cache name. This is my first hide and I hope you enjoy it and the area as much as I did while placing it. A 4x4 vehicle or stamina of the area's largest residents (Mtn. Goat) is needed to get there. If you don't plan to drive to the top, the best approach is to park at the Webster Pass summit and walk up the obvious road to the summit (Note: the road visible from the pass is one way only (down) and vehicles coming down may not be able to stop and therefor ALWAYS have right of way). Driving to the summit requires you to approach from its south side via a fairly difficult 4x4 trail which takes 2-3 hours. Please rehide well, despite the difficulty of reaching the area, this spot sees quite a bit of traffic. Use common sense above treeline if weather is nasty.

Original goodies:
Log, Pens, Pencils, National Parks Owners Guide, Energizer Bunny, Tye Dye Walrus, Car Wash Tokens, Green Jeep, "First to Find" Geocoin, Glow in the Dark Paint, Key ring, Lighter, Joes 4x4 Geocache token.

For the FTF, I've stocked this one with some goodies, but i ask that you take and carry on the tradition of the Geocoin included. *Edit 8/23* Congrats to RDAD for the FTF. Looks like the "First to Find" geocoin has some good ju-ju since it was his "first" FTF.
