This cache is placed near a plaque describing the point of origin for the survey of Melbourne. Batman's Hill is around 300m south of here and it was here in 1837 that Robert Hoddle (later to become the first surveyor general), used Batman's Hill as the point of origin for setting out Melbourne's suburban grid layout. The difficulty rating of 3 reflects the continuous presence of muggle foot traffic. The cache was placed some time ago and in order for it to remain safe please take due care and employ stealth when retrieving and replacing. The cache is now a blue mint tin and contains a logbook . Good luck
