Geocache Description:

FAES - Foxtrot, Alpha, Echo, Sierra - the callsign for the Eshowe, KZN runway.

This well maintained grass strip of 800m at 1600ft AGL and with 04 / 22 headings is well known by many local pilots. Most student pilots based at Virginia Airport use it as a route marker on their initial dual and solo cross country flights. The nearby ES NDB (non directional beacon) no longer transmits but is used as one of the hold points for larger aircraft onroute to Durban International.

For those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground the views from the runway to the north-west are truely stunning. On a clear day the hills of Babanango and Melmoth can be seen.

Now for the "Big and Small" part of the cache name. Well this is a multi cache and all will be revealed ...

Cache is a regular size plastic container with some items to trade and hopefully always a TB or GC or two ready for departure. Please replace carefully before leaving.
