Kingsford View Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions

Your view North looks across the North Para River toward the historic Kingsford homestead (unfortunately obscured by trees) and outbuildings, built by pastoralist, Stephen King (no, not that one) in the 1840’s. King prospered in the area from his flour milling, fine merinos, maize plantings and Cashmere goats, but went broke when drought withered his pastoral ventures in the far north. This area was a favoured river crossing at the time for bullockies en route to the Kapunda copper mines and upper Barossa, even though today no river crossing exists. The homestead is more commonly known for “McLeods Daughters,” where the television series was based and which celebrated its 6 anniversary on 8th August, 2007. From here the production extends to other nearby areas, including Two Wells and Freeling. You are looking for a Sistema container.
