Geocache Description:

This is the second in a small series of caches placed near some of South Dorsets' castles. The others are near Portland and Maiden castles.

Sandsfoot Castle was built in the 1540s by Henry VIII to defend Portland Harbour from French and Spanish invasion.
Owing to the fact that it was built on soft clays it has suffered from on going coastal erosion despite being in the confines of Portland Harbour. More information on the castle can be found on the information board near the refreshment kiosk.

PLEASE BE VERY DISCREET WHEN RETRIEVING AND HIDING CACHE.

Make a note of the information left in the logbook from this and the other two caches. It will help you find our bonus 'Castle Treasure' cache.
