The posted coordinates were originally at a sign which reminded travellers of the special relationship between Canberra and another city in another country - namely Nara, Japan. The sign (which has since been removed) noted the sister city relationship between Nara and Canberra. The sign plays no part in finding this cache, however you are welcome to park at this location or just down the road approximately 200m. The proclamation of a sister city relationship was formalised on 26 October 1993. The relationship between the cities includes a range of similarities in the cultural, sporting and education areas, such as education exchanges, football, softball, and martial arts.

Charlie enjoyed his visit to the cultural centre way up in the hills. One of the features of the centre was the fabulous echo that could be heard if one yelled out loud enough from the balcony of the nearby Alpha Cafe. Charlie soon learned of the local custom where patrons would call out bravo for a particularly good effort. Nearby there was also a lavish hotel with great views, which 'none' of the patrons ever complained about.
When looking back down the valley from the Alpha Cafe one could just make out the river delta stretching across to the coast. This was nowhere near as impressive as similar vistas in India, but the Alpha Cafe made 'no' claims that it was as good. Another drawcard that the cafe boasted was the expansive dance floor, where patrons could while away the evenings doing the jive or foxtrot. Patrons would often enjoy a stroll out to the balcony where they would try the echo one more time, and the echo always responded.
