BSA and the Park... Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

mynuthouse: As much as I really hate to, I need to go ahead and bite the proverbial bullet and archive this cache. It was fun while it lasted. Unfortunately there appears to be more "campers" in this park now. Wasn't like that when this was first established. Oh well; it is what it is. Keep caching!

Geocache Description:

*** >>> FTF - Johann Panholtz <<< ***

When scouts recite their respective oath or promise, they are reminded of duty. Duty to God is obvious. Duty to others is most often displayed in the form of some sort of service project. This unique sliver of a park is no exception. There have been MANY projects by the various units of Liberty District performed for this park in the past. The most recent was the refurbishment of the gazebo by members of Troop 401, sponsored by the LDS Church in Hinesville, Georgia.

The nearby bridge has seen the ceremonial crossings of many Webelos as they left the familiarity of the Cub Scout Pack to join the ranks of a Boy Scout Troop to face new adventures.

The cache contains several patches, GeoCoins.net wooden marks, and a pencil and logbook.

Below you will find the coordinates to a few of the many service project sites (and a recommended cache or two?).
