What was THAT!!! (NIGHT CACHE)
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This is a night cache only.\
The cache is not at the posted coordinates. They are the starting point for the trail.
The parking for this cache is across the road from the starting point, Parking is on First Lake Drive. This cache from the start of the trail head to the end when you return back to the trail head is almost 2.5 kms
For this cache, you need to bring a flashlight. You need a “good” flashlight, not a keyring flashlight, also bring an extra flashlight with extra batteries, just in case one fails. If possible, you’d like it to project a beam out to 100-150 feet, though i tried to place the markers closer together. At the start of the trail head look for 2 white reflector, one on each side of the trail. After that there will only be 1 reflector to look for, it can be on the right or left side of the trail.Follow the reflector along the trail, WHEN you get to the part of the path that has 2 reflectors on the same tree, be careful there is a big stump on the other side of the trail that sticks out, i don't want anyone getting hurt walking into it.
Once you see 3 reflectors on the same tree, one on top of the other, you are close. stand next to that tree and look all around to find the next reflector, this last part of the hunt is off the trail about 200 ft, so be very careful of low trees and branches that can hit you in the eyes(if you have sport glasses or something for your eyes you should use them for this part). you will know when you find the cache because something there will be happy to see you. the cache is very close then.
The cache is a .50 cal ammo case with a logbook and a pen and a few other things, i would like to keep this cache a night theme for swag,ie flashlight, glow stick etc. there is also going to be some extra batteries and a flashlight, if there is only 1 flashlight and 1 pack of batteries DO NOT take them onless you need them to get out of the woods, and if you do take them can you email me to let me know so i can replace them.
Its always a good idea to turn on BREADCRUMB FEATURE/BACK TRACK before beginning the hunt, so you can find your way back to the start. also when you find the last 3 refectors take a WAYPOINT/POI from that spot, so you can get back to the trail after you find the cache
*****placed some fire tacks from the cache out to the trail, the new tacks are a different colour coming out then the ones coming in, i tried to put them on the tree's so you couldn't see them when you are going in, it was alittle hard because the firetacks have to be on the side of the tree's not on the front of the tree like the other one's, but they should help you get back out*******
There is a lottery ticket and a lucky penny for First To Find.
Have fun, but be safe
Congrats to Vidkid101,fishing fanatic, 4Fitzs and BluenoseClimber for the FTF
