Geocache Description:

Permission is granted for the placement of this cache. Parking is permitted on the pull off near the cache. The road north of the cache is private property. Please do not go any further north than the cache location.

Pumpkin Creek, best known for the surface-ground water dispute, flowed into the Nebraska panhandle from eastern Wyoming through Banner County, part of Scotts Bluff County and Morrill County, along the foot of the Wildcat range, before joining the North Platte River near Bridgeport.

From the location of this cache you can see Pumpkin Creek meander along the buttes of the Wildcat range. Be sure to take a moment to look at the view of Courthouse and Jail Rock while you are stopped. A short distance west of the cache is a nice view of the creek from the roadside. North of the cache location is a man-made dam used by local farmers for irrigation. Please note that the dam is located on private property and access to the dam was not requested nor granted for the purpose of placing this cache.
