Geocache Description:

Part of the Remember the U.S.S. Cole Series.

This monument was erected by the community. It was paid for by donations from individuals, veterans clubs and businesses. Labor was furnished by the International Masonry Institute of Ft. Ritchie, Maryland and the Washington County Parks and Recreation Department. Materials were donated by companies in the County. It was constructed to represent the five arch stone bridges of Washington County. A bronze plaque was placed in each arch to represent each of the five branches of the military.

The "Memorial Wall" was dedicated on Memorial Day, May 30, 2000 to all of the men and women of Washington County who served their county honorably and faithfully.

Secreted near to this garden of remembrance is a letterbox/geocache. The container itself is a medium sized rubbermaid like container with a logbook, rubber stamp, inkpad, and assorted other trade items. As with all letterboxes please stamp your logbook with the stamp and stamp pad located in the container and sign and stamp the logbook located in the cache container. Please DO NOT take the stamp or stamp pad as these are NOT trade items. Please DO remember to blot your stamps after use on the towels provided and close the stamp pad tightly to help prevent drying out. All other items within the container are fair game.
