The cache is an ammo box and is easy to find by following the directions. I can walk from the parking area to the cache in less than 2 1/2 minutes.
Please read the directions below before heading in to the bushes from parking! No bushwhacking is required if you follow the directions!
1) Good parking is on the service road behind the McDonalds restaurant at the intersection of Hwy 151 Expressway and Westover Hills Blvd. The parking coordinates are: N 29° 27.719 W 098° 41.596.
2) From there, walk down the south side of Westover Hills Blvd toward Sea World and away from McDonalds for about 475 feet. Don't cross the blvd.
4) When you get to the No Parking sign on a YELLOW pole, turn left away from the blvd and walk toward the bushes. (If you are dropping someone off without parking, drop them at the No Parking sign)
Update: 12/08/08 the yellow pole has been knocked over and out of the ground, but still lying there.
5) Walk about 100 feet straight away from the blvd. When you see the two clusters of cactus you are at the right place. Walk between the cactus clusters and continue toward the bush line.
6) At the bush line turn left and walk into the clearing and follow your GPSr from there. No bushwhacking is required to reach the cache.
This is meant to be an easy find, so please feel welcome to come by anytime to drop off or pick up Travel Bugs, Geo-Coins and any other trackable items. A Travel Bug drop is not required to claim a "find" or to pick up a Travel Bug. Out of town cachers are welcome! Be sure to stop by when ever you are in the area.
