The Bamboozlin' Hornswoggler's Roadkill
Etiquette 101
Lesson #8
(Removal)
If you hit wildlife with your vehicle,
you will need to decide what you're going to do. Now,
assuming it was unintentional, you could show courtesy to
other drivers by moving the roadkill. However, it would
defeat the purpose to let others see you while doing this.
Therefore, you will have to use sophisticated techniques to
accomplish this. There are many effective methods. Amateurs
usually prefer the "up under the shirt" maneuver, in which
the person will casually approach the roadkill, and quickly
slide it under their shirt as they turn to walk away. Once
you are more confident, you may attempt the "steel-toed punt"
approach. This is where the person will take a running start,
and punt the roadkill to the side. As I mentioned before,
there are many effective methods. One rule that you must
remember, is that whenever you move roadkill, it must end up
further away from the road than road signs. The reason for
this is to prevent unnecessary distraction and possible
injury to what are known as "sport-roadkillers". Next week,
we will learn more about "sport-roadkillers" and "vehicular
wildlife predators".
Park on the side of the road carefully.
